We did it! First show Successful!

Well, we did it!

We all came to my house prior to the show and did a run through. We packed up all our stuff and to my great relief we didn't forget a thing!

We got to the club early and uniquely created a whole seating area centre stage. I am so grateful for my team and their effort and for believing in us. A couple of girls with a vision and the people who decided that they would blindly believe in us and walk this path with us.

I kicked off my very high heels and started to run around the club moving little stools and setting them up where I wanted only to have the help of Tommy "Sugarface" Malone quickly step in and lend a hand. I love that. I didn't want to have to ask anyone for help as I knew everyone was a little nervous and trying to get all organised pre show.

We all flowed together. We did a few run throughs and everything was good. Getting on stage was good for all of us. Getting a feel for it. No one was getting stage fright, which was one of my fears.

Another on of my fears is that no one would show up.

Tommy looked at me and said, "Just relax, you'll do fine!"

It's not that I'm worried about being on stage, I've done it a hundred times before, acting and dancing. My fear is that no one will show.

Tommy went to the store to get a sour key and upon returning, he informed me that there was a huge line up outside. What a relief.

Trixy, Scarlett, Sprinkles and myself all prepped in the back. I think we were relatively calm....

The people had great energy and it was such a happy and outgoing bunch! They applauded and laughed and understood all of the jokes, even the dirty ones and it made it so much fun!

The next day I must have received about 50 text messages. All positive feedback and I smiled for about a week afterwards. What a high!

I love my team! We're on our way to entertaining SO many more people and we're loving every moment of this journey.

The BIG Day

Today is the big day. After our full dress rehearsal at Jimmy Liks last night it helped us all feel a little bit more confident how the whole thing was going to roll out. We had a couple last minute God sent people agree to help us out for the night of the show and good God what a relief.

Its 9:48am and I slept quite well. I hope the rest of the team slept well also. All the details of the show need to be triple perfected, all details need to be there. The lighting, the sound the music and also the performers ability to work with what they have and to go with the flow if something comes up or is completely unexpected.

I am so blessed and lucky not just to have an amazing team, but how amazing each one of these individuals are. All having their own talents that I love and admire.

Now, time to get back to work.

"If you have a vision, no matter how big or how small, look at how you can achieve what you set out to do and follow along that path."

The Count Down

We're rehearsing like crazy, still having fun spending time together and no one has wanted to kill anyone else. At least no one had expressed an urge to do so. Goal, to sell all the tickets we printed. Posted an ad in the Langley Times Newspaper that will be coming out tomorrow and next Tuesday.

Myself personally will be working my butt off to perfect my routines and to start choreographing our end routine. I hope that Miss Scarlett Capone likes it, she's in charge of that kind of stuff but thought I'd try it.

I need to get the rest of the photos from our photo shoot and schedule another photo shoot for Miss Trixie Sweettart and Sprinkles Bojangles.

Although the list of things to do is shrinking, I continuously add new tasks, like booking new shows and where. We want to go on tour and travel throughout the Okanagan and interior all summer long. There was even a discussion about travelling to Alberta to perform in a few shows.

Right now, we don't have these shows booked, but, I am confident that it will all work out.

I need to get on with my routines, so, this is it for now.

The Adventure of New Business

07/05/2012

Although I have taken the necessary steps to secure trusted people, including an awesome business partner and amazing choreographer, there are still things that you learn in business classes that you forget all about until your walking along the path of business.

For Nadine and I, there is no such thing as failure. We, to date have been like the blind leading the blind. I was up at 5am thinking, prepping, planning. Costumes need to be perfected. I wonder how all routines are coming along, we need to make sure we sell all of our tickets, accessories, full dress rehearsals and bookings for future shows.

So much to do, oh the stress......more so, the passion and fire I have to get it all done and the excitement I feel knowing that we are getting closer to performing and providing an amazing, funny, sexy show that will have people coming back for more.

Soon we will be posting live video clips of our adventures of our business adventures.....
